Weekend in Paradise: Kerala

Saturday morning we girls in the group woke up bright and early to catch a flight to Kerala (translation = land of coconuts). It is supposed to be one of the top 1000 things to see/do before you die and we quickly learned why. It is BEAUTIFUL! We stayed at a resort called coconut grove, which you could only reach by boat because it is located on an island. The whole place is peaceful and beautiful. There were attends to meet our every needs and the food was just too delicious!

Upon arrival, we had lunch settled in and took a dip in the pool. Then we headed out on a sunset cruise on the river. Afterwards, we came back and had a rejuvenation massage. This session was for 2 hours and included a scalp massage, full body massage by two people, a body steam and shower. It took some getting used to because, as some of you may or may not know, in places other than the US, when they say full body, they mean FULL body! But it was relaxing once we got over the initial shock and awkwardness and once again CHEAP (i like this general theme in India). The next morning we spent mostly by the pool and getting facials. It was a wonderful way to spend the weekend.

Today, we regretfully flew back to find that monsoon season has officially begun in Bangalore. So here comes the rain! Work also starts tomorrow. Boo. I am actually not excited about it (which is unusual for me) but I'm hoping it will turn out to be great. We'll see.

I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts.

Again, I sent you there to work and study. When does that start?
